An Instructor with a Background in Music

My name is Christel Meyer. I grew up as a pastor’s kid in Hector, MN. Growing up I performed in church with my family, sang in the church choir, and was involved in Choir, Band and Popsingers all the way through high school. I started taking piano lessons in 1st grade and continued until I graduated from high school in 1997.

I moved to the Twin Cities and attended Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota. There I continued my piano lessons until achieving a piano minor. I sang in the Northwestern College Choir and with a small ministry group called Innermission. I received my degree in Music Education in 2002 with a focus in voice.

I proceeded to teach Choir and General Music in the Farmington public schools for two years. I then started teaching private lessons through South of the River Music and Hosanna! Academy. During this time I also enjoyed performing with the Minnesota Chorale and singing with the Hosanna! Church Choir. For the last four years I taught General Music and started a Choir program at San Miguel Middle School in Minneapolis. I also taught private voice and piano lessons through Good Guy Music in Andover, Minnesota.

I married Matthew Meyer in December of 2008 and moved back to the northern suburbs. It has always been my dream to start my own studio and now I have the chance to do so with Noteworthy Chords.
